<image:caption>Tobias Keene, D.D.S. Hailing from Richmond, Virginia, Dr. Tobias Keene brings a bit of unabashed Southern hospitality to all his patients. He moved to Washington, D.C. over thirty years ago as a freshman at Ivy College. Right after graduation, he attended World University’s School of Dentistry. Before opening Keene Dental in 1994, he worked for free clinics and some of the finest practices in the District. He is part of the 123 Dental Association and stays up-to-date on the latest dental discoveries. When not striving to keep his patients happy and healthy, he’s enjoys hiking with his family in Rock Creek Park.</image:caption>

<image:title>What the ESEC Can Do for You - Curriculum Design Focusing on learning improves educational outcomes</image:title>
<image:caption>Looking to create a new education program? Does that long-running program need a re-design? I will work with you to ensure your education programs best meet the evolving needs of your learners and the current moment. Many educational materials draw from standards or content principles but often do not leverage current research about how people learn. With 25 years of research and evaluation experience, the ESE Collaboratory brings meaningful learning design to your ideas, leading to materials that foster deep, long-lasting learning.</image:caption>

<image:title>What the ESEC Can Do for You - Program and Project Evaluation The key to program success is evaluation</image:title>
<image:caption>Evaluating your programs is the best way to know if you are meeting your organization’s mission and goals. It is also a great way to demonstrate successes to your members and supporters. I apply the same collaborative, co-design approach to evaluation that I use with all my services.</image:caption>

<image:title>What the ESEC Can Do for You - Grant Writing Background Research Grounding your ideas in research increases funding success</image:title>
<image:caption>The ESE Collaboratory can help you win funding for your ideas. With over a decade of grant writing and reviewing experience, and over $2 million in successful grant proposals, I do the background research that supports your appeals for funding. The ESE Collaboratory collects data on your successes and helps you describe those successes in ways that will impress future funders. In addition, I know how to conduct and craft literature reviews that demonstrate the need for your new program or project, or for general support for your organization. As is true with all of my services, I engage in a collaborative, co-design process that works with you to develop the grant writing products you need.</image:caption>

<image:title>What the ESEC Can Do for You - Professional Development When professional development leverages the best pedagogical practices, teaching improves.</image:title>
<image:caption>Educators are learners. When educators are taught as learners, they understand why particular pedagogical practices work, not just how to implement them. My professional development programs apply the latest research on pedagogy and empower educators to improve their teaching, thereby improving student learning. With over 20 years of experience teaching educators, and over 30 years of experience as an educator, the ESE Collabortory knows how to prepare educators for a sustainable, equitable future.</image:caption>

<image:title>What the ESEC Can Do for You - Policy Advancement Effective policy leads to systemic change</image:title>
<image:caption>The ESE Collaboratory has the know-how to create high-level, long-lasting change. Working directly with educators and learners is critical to tackling environmental racism in all its forms, and to bringing about individual and system-wide pro-environmental behavior change. At the same time, we need large scale changes that only policy can bring about quickly. With nearly a decade of experience working on environmental policy at the highest levels of the U.S. policy arena, The ESE Collaboratory can help your organization meet strategic, system-level changes as a tool for bringing about a sustainable, equitable future. Contact me to start a conversation about how I can co-create a policy landscape the centers DEIJ and environmental sustainability simultaneously.</image:caption>

      <image:title>The ESEC Approach - My Approach</image:title>
<image:caption>Co-design and iteration All my work is guided by co-design processes. I don’t design for you, I design with you. That means I will work hard to understand your needs and goals before I begin any design work. Then, I will draft early stage designs and get your feedback. After that, together we will create iterations of the products you need until you are comfortable with the design. Even after a curriculum, program, evaluation, or other product has been implemented, I am happy to continue the co-design process if you wish to explore more designs. Contact The ESE Collaboratory to find out more about my process and to start collaborating.</image:caption>
